Made this at the start of the year for a short film competition. Feel enough time has passed since the deadline to post it on my own channel, so here it is. Starring Lucy Bruegger, Damien McEvoy, the amazing Tara Platt (watch her web series Shelf Life here and follow her on twitter here ), and Daniel Francis. Made in roughly 72hours, hope you enjoy
So I heard about this @jessops short film competition late last year. I’m usually not one for competitions, because usually despite my usual optimism, I tend to never bother because various factors always discourage me from trying. However, here was one, where I somehow had an interesting idea, I figured I’d just run with it and see what happened. Of course other than the camera and actors (One of whom I lucked out on by sheer chance of good graces. Thanks Tara!), resources were to be as always the main problem. But what the hell, it’s a short film, and what are shorts but for experimenting and taking chances with. I’d been meaning to do a short, so what does it matter if it was for a contest, win or lose. At the end I still have a short film, and my 2012 has started well as a result, film wise I mean. So, after 2 days shooting with some script juggling in terms of locations, and some on and off editing and a sourced soundtrack, here it is! Even got my first comment from the competition page. One of those bitter sweet ones you know, where the positives though visible, are somehow thrown into unbalance by the one thing. You can’t please everyone, but hey, at least I made a film. Hope you enjoy
Spec Music Video I did for Kavinsky’s Nightcall from the Drive SDTK.
Had an idea, and the urge to do a little project before the end of the year, and so the stars aligned for this particular kernel. Somehow I suddenly got the really strong idea in my head to do a video for this song while listening to it on a train somewhere. Here’s to just going for it!
RANDOM 11 Japanese Trailer: The 2nd Official trailer for my feature film, which I think really has a nice sense of mystery to it, and doesn’t give much away in terms of story and all, which hopefully people appreciate. There is a more exposition in the 1st UK trailer, so it’s nice to have best of both worlds. Hope you enjoy it too, and if so, do spread it round and share! ^_^
